Be faithful with your time.

Yesterday I was returning home to Jacksonville from Canada. Most of my day consisted of walking between terminals at different airports. My final flight was delayed by quite some time, so I went into the main part of that terminal where there was a lot of places to eat, shop and sit. As I sat there, tired from my trip, I just started watching people passing by to catch their flights. I am not sure the reason of this, but people were running in all directions trying to catch their flights. When I say running I probably should say sprinting! It was very entertaining to watch!As I was sitting there spending some time in prayer and watching people run in different directions to catch flights, I remember hearing God say, "Be faithful with your time." I know this wasn't directed toward the people that were trying to catch their flights; it was just a great visual reminder that what I chose to do with my time is very important and has an eternal value. As I was sitting there, I started thinking more on this topic and knew then that this is what I was supposed to write about for today's post; even though I already had another post written and scheduled.Being faithful with your time to me does not mean just using your time efficiently or maintaining an excellent schedule, it also means believing that the time you have is from God and it needs to be used faithfully for His will. This is my main point today; our time is from God and He has a plan for it in every season.People often get impatient when they are not where they want to be in life; instead of just waiting and remaining faithful, they begin trying to force their own future in order to get where they want to be. This is especially true for the people that know what they would like to do with their lives. Instead of staying faithful where they are, they always feel the need to take action toward the next thing that will boost them closer to where their vision has them. I have seen people in my life who have made very bad choices for the sake of professional and personal advancement. It hurt them and a lot of people. They were unable to remain faithful to God in what He would want them to do with their time.Jesus did not start His ministry until He was 30 years old; which is the main part of His life that we read and talk about. (Age 30-33) Jesus came into this world to show us the way to live, and die for us so that we would be able to be holy in God's eyes. Why didn't Jesus start earlier? He could have healed more people and saved more people on the way. Why not travel more places? A lot of people never got to meet Jesus. Why not spend more time teaching people? If he did, everyone around him would have been wiser.These questions are based on a life that would have been forced, and done in Jesus' own strength. Jesus had His instructions from the Father; he patiently, and without question, remained faithful in every season that He went through. Wherever you are in life, I encourage you to make sure that you are being still and waiting on God. Be patient, be faithful and God will bless your future. Jesus lived over 90% of His life before doing what He was made to do... He remained Faithful.
