The Good Christian Podcast

Season 3: Jesus Over Everything

  • Jesus Over Everything - Dangerous Jesus w/ Kevin “KB” Burgess

In this episode of the Good Christian Podcast, Joshua has the pleasure of interviewing   Dove Award–winning rapper, speaker, and podcaster Kevin “KB” Burgess (@kb_hga) about his the debut book,   Dangerous Jesus releases March 7, 2023.

KB is follower of Jesus first and foremost; a husband father, award winning artist and co-host of the Soutside Rabbi Podcast.

KB refers to Jesus as “the kind of dangerous that is so infused with power from on high that nothing stays the same when He walks into the room.” He considers the love of Jesus to be “so strong, it’s intoxicating,” and his truth “so good, it sets people free.” In his book he implores readers to reconnect with this Jesus to become a threat to the threats—to be dangerous.

Tackling some of the hardest issues of today (race, nationalism, division, sanctity of life, sexuality), Joshua and KB discuss the difference between the “Christianity of the Land” (which worships power and comfort) and the “Christianity of Christ,” which challenges us to worship, follow, and reflect the Savior.

The Good Christian Podcast

Season 2: Living Called

  • Should Christians Celebrate Halloween?

At the Good Christian Co. we seek to encourage and equip Christians to follow Jesus well in our modern world. This includes how we engage with cultural holidays and celebration that might run counter to our faith. Halloween is a perfect example of this. With root in paganism and seemingly surrounded by dark, even demonic and satanic symbols, how could Christians possibly be ok with taking part of such a holiday?

Pastor William Butt and Joshua dive a little deeper under the surface to discuss, not what Christians should think and do, but more how they should think to come up with their own conclusions led by The Holy Spirit, and informed by wisdom and scripture.

  • Looking at Abortion through a Renewed Mind

Joshua and Lisa introduce the topic for the month, Renewing the Mind, through the lens of the recent overturning of Roe v Wade. Tune in to learn more about how we, as Christians, can renew our minds and live more like Jesus around such a controversial topic in todays world.
