The Bible was Written for YOU.

Just earlier this week, I was looking for something that I knew I had put away for safe keeping and the search had me go through a lot of things that I had done the same thing with.  Now...many of these items I knew I had kept, whether it was a scorecard from a round of golf I played, a picture of me from my childhood, or even a hand-written note from a friend from high school.  But I came across something that made me feel different than the rest of what I knew I had.I opened an envelope, still on the search for what I was looking for, and found a note from my grandfather (Daddy John - as we called him).  It was a simple note he had written me on my 19th birthday.  Then I found another one written to me on my 20th birthday.My grandfather passed away years ago, but I still cherish the time I was able to spend with him playing golf, and learning from him.  He was a great, God-fearing man who ran his business with great passion for those he worked with as well as for pleasing God through His actions.So you may be thinking, that the note he wrote me was something life-changing and on it were words that I will quote for the rest of my life.  Well, you would be wrong.  It was a simple "Happy Birthday" note with nothing life altering written on that small card.The thing that made me feel differently was that when I opened that card, I saw his hand writing and immediately remembered how much I loved him.  I immediately remembered his love for me and the rest of the family.  I immediately recalled the times I had spent with him and the joy it gave me every time I saw him.  It wasn't the words that did that it , it was the fact that he took the time to write something...ANYTHING...to me.Normally this is the place where I would place in a bible verse that fits.  But today its not about the individual words written in the bible, even though there are some great combinations in there!  Its more about looking at the bible as a whole and realizing that our Father has given this to us because He loves us.  Looking at any words out of the bible should give us a peace and joy knowing this very fact! God loved us so much that he gave us His word to read whenever we need it.Go pick up God's letter to you today and read anything out of it.  While your are reading it focus on the fact that it was written for YOU!John 1:1"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God."
