Give Up All Hope
When I reflect back to where I was in my life 10 years ago, I can think of many things that I could have done differently that would have drastically improved the quality of my life during those times. If I had the knowledge that I have now, I would not have put myself in some of those situations and seasons that I ended up in. If I knew what I know today, I would have gone through parts of my life with much less pain.The truth is, we all could have done better in our pasts if we had the knowledge that we have today. However, it is part of the journey of life to learn these lessons and skills along the way. Just as a diamond is refined by fire, our personalities and our character are developed in the same way. Often we have to go through difficult times (the fire) in life to become who we have been made to be.If I had the knowledge and the wisdom that I have today 10 years ago, I would have really saved myself from some bad dating relationships, the wrong friendships, the wrong jobs, the wrong places that I decided to spend my time, etc... However, we cannot go back and change a single thing. No matter how much we think about it, pray about it, worry and stress about it, and no matter how much we are still hurt by it, nothing can be changed. It's time for us to decided to give up all hope.Give up all hope for a better past.We need to stop hoping that our past is somehow going to change, or no longer affect or bother us. It's time to let go and decide to let go of our pasts, and instead, focus on the future. How can we use our journey to benefit our futures and the futures of others with the knowledge that we have from our pasts?

I knew when I made the decision to truly live for God that I was not able to go back in time and erase the wrong choices that I had made; I couldn't go back and make my start better. However, God and I are now fully in control of my ending. I know that how we finish is more important than how we begin.
Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope."
Notice this bible verse says give you a future, not give you a past. Start taking steps to get your mind off of your past. Decide in your heart and mind that today you are a new person; because today is the best time to start your new ending. No one can go back and make a brand new start. But anyone can start now to make a brand new ending.
