Gravity is pulling but heaven is calling.

We live in a world that is excelling and evolving rapidly. Almost every industry is experiencing some form of breakthrough and (or) growth. Just as an example, look at the electronic industry; breakthroughs happen almost daily which effects individuals and organizations by allowing them to reach more people and become more effective and efficient.All of the progression in the world seems very positive! The average person can learn and experience things almost instantly that people in past generations could never have experienced in their lifetimes. We have better tools to help people in need and medically we can cure more disease than ever before. It is easy to connect with family and friends anywhere in the world. Yes, the growth and changes in this world seem to be very positive! However, when you look at the people filling this world, positivity is not the first word that comes to mind.As the world continues to evolve and progress, the people filling this earth are becoming more negative and less content. Happiness is more temporary than ever and we are more impatient. This is happening because culture is adapting to the "spiritual" gravity. We live in such a 'now' and fast-pace world. Because of this, the mentality of people has changed. Patience, integrity, loyalty and appreciation seem to be part of our history. From the moment someone is born, they are told that they need to try the new thing, they need to follow the new trend, they need to quickly get the highest education and from there land a job in a big company while at the same time, getting the latest cars, houses, phones, etc.Just as the earth has a physical gravity that keeps our feet on the ground, there is also a spiritual gravity that is just as real. The spiritual gravity of this world tells us that we cannot be positive, content, happy, patient or pure without fully engaging in everything the world has to offer. However, the difference between the physical gravity and the spiritual gravity is that the latter allows us to decide how we are affected by it. We can choose for ourselves whether we want to follow the earth's spiritual pattern, or God's spiritual pattern.

“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” - Romans 12:2

As followers of Christ, we are called to live differently than the culture of this world. In our minds is where the effects of spiritual gravity are controlled. As the earth's spiritual gravity becomes increasingly unhealthier, God's spiritual gravity never changes. The bible says that God is the same yesterday, today and forever. The purpose of who we are to be as believers is the same no matter what happens on this earth. Remember how God has called us to think...

“Whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable--if anything is excellent or praiseworthy - think about such things.” - Philippians 4:8

Let this post be a reminder to never forget that we are called to a higher standard. This world will do everything it can to pull us into its spiritual pattern. As follows of Christ, we cannot allow ourselves to be conformed. I encourage you to stay positive, be content, be happy and be patient. Gravity is pulling, but heaven is calling! The world has a plan for your life, but so does God. Decide today to follow God's spiritual gravity by being a light to this world.
