Here is The One Thing That Will Never Change in Life

In the middle of all the uncertainty around the globe, we can be certain of this one thing: God is constant. This never-changing truth is the source of our peace. The word and promises of God are not altered by a pandemic. They will never change. They will never fail. “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, and today, and forever.” ~ Hebrews 13:8 NIV “God is not a man, that He should lie, Nor the son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and He will not do? Or has He spoken and will He not make it good?” ~ Numbers 23:19 NIV

Nobody knows what the world, or our lives will be like post-pandemic.

This is the reason there is so much speculation and fear. We were set in our ways, and routines, not wanting to change and now it’s all irrelevant. We all don’t understand. The experts are working to understand. They don’t. We can’t even fully comprehend the scope of what is going on around the world. We have to put our hope and trust in the One who is All-Knowing, God.“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him and he will direct your paths.” ~ Proverbs 3:5-6

No matter how our lives change.

Our jobs, the people that remain standing, the way we experience life and each other.   No matter the changes in this world - world orders, the nature of financial, economic, or political systems. This will never change: Our Redeemer lives, and He has made us righteous by the blood of Jesus if we believe and confess with our mouths that He is Lord. It wasn’t done by our works lest we should boast and think it all hangs on us, but it was all God.“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith - and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift from God - not by works, so that no one can boast.” ~ Ephesians 2:8-9 NIV

This is our saving grace.

The same grace of God, is the only reason Job could say without hesitation, I am a good man, when he had lost everything. The people around him assumed that he was deserving of his fate because of sin in his life, but Job refused to accept that theory (Job 19). I used to wonder, how Job could say he was good without wavering, when God sees and knows everything. Every thought, every action, and every inaction. Surely Job was not a perfect man. He couldn’t have been perfect. The word tells us that there is only One who was without blemish, Jesus Christ. Christ alone is perfection. Then I realized that Job understood the nature of God;  the power and certainty of his redemption through the blood of Christ.

The enemy deceives us by pointing out our humanity and causing us to feel shame and guilt. When the truth is that we have been set free. Christ died on the cross for the sins of mankind. It’s already been taken care of by the blood that makes us white as snow. The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, “Behold the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!” ~ John 1:29 NIV

If we put our trust in anything other than God we become unwilling to change and enslaved.

It doesn’t matter what happens with the systems of the world. We have been set free. When feelings of panic arise, let us declare the word of God over our lives. “I have been young, and now am old; yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging for bread.” ~ Psalm 37:25 NIVThe bible tells us not to worry about tomorrow, that it has enough troubles of its own (Matthew 6:34). Besides we have the assurance that God is already in our tomorrow, because He is the beginning and the end  (Revelation 22:13). Day by day let’s rejoice, praise and worship the Most High God in our homes. Only God can give us the peace to make it through any season. I pray that we would all be able to sing a new song in our hearts because we know that the God we serve does not sleep or slumber (Psalm 121:3). We must consciously reject all things that contradict the word of God. They are falsehoods designed to steal our peace and enslave us to fear.

This too shall pass.

We are strangers passing through this life. Our mission is to spread the Good News on our encounters.  We have a perfect home awaiting us that will always be intact. Nothing can be moved there. “Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. My Father’s house has many rooms; if it were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.” ~ John 14:1-3Our future is certain in Christ. Jesus Christ is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6). We find rest in this truth. “You don’t need to know the way. You know the Way Maker.” ~ Holly Furtick
