In God's Perfect Timing, He Will Make Things Happen

What a beautiful blessing! Downright surprising! I was grinning from ear to ear when I received the good news from my childhood best friend. She lives in Dubai while I am living in my home country. During a quick phone conversation, she shared with me that she was now pregnant after 2 years of marriage! I was surprised and overjoyed about her announcement! My ultimate dream for her had finally come true.

God answered my longtime prayer for her.

It dawned on me the many times in the past when I've seen her with tears streaming down her face. She had feelings of devastation after every failed relationship. I cried with her in those moments when she was down in the dumps. But I always assured her. I've lost count of how many times we both cried every time lightning busted our cloud nine, only to find the sun is smiling again on the other side. At that moment, every little thing flashed back to my mind.

The good old days- where we were talking about anything and everything under the sun. Laughing our hearts out until the early morning hours, and even comforting each other when needed. And for me, our friendship was one of the tremendous gifts from above that I will always cherish. Oh yes, now more than ever, I couldn't be happier for her. After so many "whys," being there through heartbreak after heartbreak, after the long wait, she has finally found the one. And with an extra blessing that would be a bundle of joy for a soon-to-be mom and dad.

Amazing Grace, how sweet is God's perfect timing!

Thinking back to the present time of my friend now married and pregnant, my favorite verse that I hold dear to my heart rings true again this time:

God makes all things beautiful in His time.  Ecclesiastes 3:11 (NLT)

We must keep our eye on the prize.

Sometimes, we tend to lose hope. We are on the verge of giving up. But, it is during these moments when God shows us He is a faithful God. In a blink of an eye, He can work wonders in our lives. God knows who and what is best for us. He maneuvers, engineers, and orchestrates everything for our own good. He wants all the best things for His beloved children. We only need to learn to trust God's perfect timing during the waiting game. His timetable is far better than ours. I've learned from a spiritual leader in my community that God is more concerned with our character than our destination. He is molding and shaping us to be the person He wants us to be.

Keep the faith (regardless of timing)

God has His own version of our dreams. Oftentimes, we get frustrated when we don't get the things we want in our own timeline. Even when we don't get the things we believe we deserve. Whatever wishes are in our hearts, be it in our career or personal life, remember He is in control. We must only do our part to obey Him faithfully. In one of the "Personality Development" seminars I attended a few years back, the speaker said that every dream has a gestation period. The supreme source is ready to give it all in its due time. I believe this and have always taken it to heart. We may never know how long our desires will take to come true or if they ever will. What can we do?

Keep going!

Walk in faith. God is working behind the scenes. Let go and let God. He knows exactly when to give our heart's desire. God's perfect timing can never be early or late. It is always on time!
