Jesus is Like JELL-O

This past week I had the honor and privilege to be a huddle leader at a great Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) Golf Camp at Pine Needles, NC for the entire week.  Now this isn't just your normal everyday sports camp.  We did things throughout the week to keep it different and/or exciting for the campers each day.For example some of the non-golf activities included: a 100yd home-made water slide, camp wide massive game of kick-ball, and glow-in-the-dark night golf.  The point was that its not just golf everyday, but we crammed as much into a full day as we possibly could, even if it had nothing to do with golf!If you have ever been to a summer camp of any kind, you remember how exhausted you are at the end of it.  You may remember how every minute of everyday is planned for you from the time you wake up to the time you have "lights out." I took vacation from work, and not once did I ever look at an email or take a phone call that was work related.  It wasn't because I made the effort not to, I just never had the time to even think about it.  I didn't talk to my family, friends or anyone while I was gone if they weren't involved in the camp themselves. The goal of camp is to utilize every moment of every day to allow the kids to get the most out of it.  By the end of the day they are exhausted and ready to crash.  We could easily play golf all day every day and do some crazy activity at night then send them to bed to get ready for the next day.  But thats not what happens.  Throughout the day, multiple times, there are opportunities for God to be present in all that we do.Maybe its in the morning at quiet time first thing when the campers wake up.  Maybe its at breakfast when the food is prayed for.  during golf instruction when teachers talk about their life, at lunch when the food is prayed for again, at dinner, at chapel time each night, or at huddle time when campers gather in smaller groups to discuss what God is teaching them. The point here is that regardless of how much stuff is going on at camp or how much stuff is crammed into our own lives on a day to day basis there is always room for Jesus to make multiple appearances throughout the day.  I know we all say we are busy and have way too much stuff to do, but I promise that you can always find room for Jesus.Just like after eating a big meal and thinking you are stuffed...I know you have heard or used the phrase, there is always room for ice cream, or there is always room for Jell-O.  Jesus is just like that...Jesus is like Jell-O, regardless of how full you think your day is, it is never to full for Jesus.  You have to simply make the effort to include Him in your day. Don't let the world fool you into thinking that you are too busy to spend time with your creator!“Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed.” Mark 1:35"And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanksto God the Father through him." Colossians 3:17
