A Final Judgement

If you spend any amount of time in God’s word that should tell you a story where we know God can do anything for us no matter how self-centered we may be.  There will be a final judgement were every single person to walk the face of the earth will have to answer for their life.If we look at Hebrews 10:31 it says, “It is a dreadful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.”  I don’t know what you’ve been told or what you want to believe, but the God of the bible says there is a place of punishment after a final judgement has been made.  This punishment is real; it’s not some figurative place or thought, it’s a literal place with real pain.  I know it’s not comfortable to think about, or talk about but we must take the time.  We must study it and perform a true self-assessment of our lives in light of these circumstances.

The reason God puts these dreadful things in his good book is to help us.  To help us understand the grace, mercy, and forgiveness he extends to us through his son Jesus Christ.

Jesus died on the cross so you and I can avoid a condemning final judgement.  If we look at Romans 8:1 it tells us exactly that;

Romans 8:1 - Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus,

If there is even a shred of doubt about where you will spend eternity get it right today!  Today is the day that you need to come before God and acknowledge your sins to him. Ask him for forgiveness through Jesus Christ.The bible promises us there will be a day when the things of this world will go away (1 John 2:17).  It promises a new heaven, a new earth, and a new existence.  In my opinion, one of the coolest passages in the Bible is found in Revelation 21:1-5;

Revelation 21:1-5 - Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more. And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Behold, the dwelling place[a] of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people,[b] and God himself will be with them as their God.[c] He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.”And he who was seated on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” Also he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.”

I don’t know about you but I can’t wait to be in a place where I don’t have to close my eyes and imagine God. He will be right there before me.

He will take away all pain, sickness, mourning, and death! If we have given our lives to Christ there is no need to be scared of a final judgement. In fact we can look forward to it!
