A Life Filled With Junk Mail
This past weekend I had the pleasure of having my Amazon account hacked along with a quasi hack of my email. I say quasi because the hacker didn’t get into my email but saw the email address associated with my amazon account and decided, “Why just stop here?” Long story short, I now have a life filled with junk mail.You can imagine my surprise when I woke up Sunday morning and had over 1,500 junk emails, and I just cleared my junk folder the day before! With that many emails it made it extremely hard to find the one email from Amazon I was looking for so I could restore my account. As I was dealing with the frustration of the situation the Holy Spirit decided to step in with a song. The song of choice was called “Christ in Me” by Jeremy Camp.Jeremy’s song is absolutely beautiful and one part in particular stuck out to me;
“So come and empty me So that it's you I breatheI want my life to be Only Christ in me”
Those lyrics are so simple yet so powerful. Satan will do anything he can to keep those lyrics from happening in your life. He will flood your life with junk mail so you can’t find the one true message your heart is searching for. But God has the ultimate junk mail “Empty” button. If we just look for his name and his name alone we will receive all we will ever need.
Deuteronomy 4:29-31 - But even there, if you seek God, your God, you’ll be able to find him if you’re serious, looking for him with your whole heart and soul. When troubles come and all these awful things happen to you, in future days you will come back to God, your God, and listen obediently to what he says. God, your God, is above all a compassionate God. In the end he will not abandon you, he won’t bring you to ruin, he won’t forget the covenant with your ancestors which he swore to them. (MSG)
Seek God with your whole heart and he will show himself through all the junk of this life. He loves and adores you like crazy and wants nothing more than to have an intimate father-son or father daughter relationship. Give him that opportunity today, and don’t let the enemy flood you with junk mail to discourage you from reaching out to him. He will make himself known if you seek him with all your heart. I promise!
