Losing Focus and Losing Sight - Part 3
In part one we examined what Thinking of Heaven looked like and in part two we went over Praying to God to Show us Our Mission. Understanding these first two points will help us as we roll into our third and final point, Fear the Lord and keep HIS commandments.
Fear the Lord and keep HIS commandments
God calls us to a spirit of love and respect; therefore, God is someone to respect. At times a component of fear and love exist. He is also merciful at the same time. God does not call us to live in fear. What we must steer away from is becoming lukewarm Christians and thinking we can live our lives on grace alone. This can cause use to lose sight.
“For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline. So do not be ashamed of the testimony about our Lord or of me his prisoner. Rather, join with me in suffering for the gospel, by the power of God. He has saved us and called us to a holy life—not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time, but it has now been revealed through the appearing of our Savior, Christ Jesus, who has destroyed death and has brought life and immortality to light through the gospel.” - 2 Timothy 1:7-10
Sometimes I assume that I am good soil
Our relationship with God will go deeper when we are ready for it to go deeper. The fear of the Lord and our desire to keep HIS commandments should motivate us to be good soil. Assuming we are good soil will not lead us to keep HIS commandments. 
“Listen! A farmer went out to sow his seed. As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path, and the birds came and ate it up. Some fell on rocky places, where it did not have much soil. It sprang up quickly, because the soil was shallow. But when the sun came up, the plants were scorched, and they withered because they had no root. Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up and choked the plants, so that they did not bear grain. Still other seed fell on good soil. It came up, grew and produced a crop, some multiplying thirty, some sixty, some a hundred times.” - Mark 4:3-8
Be vulnerable in walking with God and recognize that losing can sometimes be the real gain. Regardless of which direction we turn, we must continue to prepare ourselves. When we have GOD on our side and we will not lose focus.
