How Much Do You Love Me? I Can't Help But Ask
I never deserved that trip
From a place I can’t comprehend
To live among the least of us
Only to be betrayed
You did it just for me
A sinner extraordinaire
No better then satan himself
But you never second guessed
What love is this?
So bold and tender
To die a sinners death
Just so I can be free
The image brings a tear to my eye
Holy blood running down your face
Soon to be scars cover your back
A sinners crown atop your head
They drag you through the courts
Up a long and dusty trail
To a place of shame and disgust
The same place I deserve
Rusty nails pierce your skin
They lift you up in the air
You don’t deserve this
But they all look and sneer
With your final breath
My face is on your mind
It’s hard to wrap my brain around
How far you truly fell
You went to the only place I deserved
And demanded the keys to my soul
The enemy can do nothing but obey
You are in complete control
I can’t say thank you enough
Or do enough good deeds
But that’s not what you want
A relationship is what you seek
A relationship so intimate and innocent
Much like a parent to their child
You constantly pursue me
Wooing me at every turn
A beautiful sunrise over the hills
Sunlight kissing everything awake
A love note from my heavenly father
No better way to start the day
I can never get enough of those moments
I long for that to be eternity
For now those moments will have to do
Until I’m called to be with you
How much do you love me?
I can’t help but ask
“The distance between heaven and hell
And my love will always last”
John 3:16-17 - For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.
