May Your Cup Overflow
Overflow. Overflow. Overflow.
This word kept being repeated over and over again in my mind. I couldn’t shake it and I felt strongly that this is the word God had for me for year 2023.
I also believe it is a word for you and for the church. I believe it is a word for what God will be doing in people’s hearts and lives this year. There have been a lot of prophetic voices speaking of revival and I believe even as I am writing this, that there is a great and mighty outpouring starting to happen on the earth.
I recently went to Asbury College where revival has broken out on the campus. People from all over the world are traveling to this tiny town in Wilmore, Kentucky to see this mighty move of God. People are being set free, lives restored, and are experiencing the presence of the Holy Spirit. A harvest of souls is accompanied with the shouts and praises of Gods people. There is a hunger and thirst to see the unseen. There is an openness to see mighty signs and wonders. This awakening of God’s children will not start and stop in the church, but it will reach the 4 corners of the earth. Even the secular world will be talking about what God is doing in the church and out on the streets.
Overflow. Overflow. Overflow.
The Holy Spirit is filling his children to the brim with his power and authority so that it can’t be contained inside the believer, but runneth over into every open heart and soul.
Lord you are awakening your ecclesia. You are bringing fresh revival to our hearts. Your love is overflowing out of those you have called for such a time as this. Your love will overflow out of those that have encountered you Holy Spirit. It will overflow into the streets. It will break down the doors of the wicked and bring life to those inside. It will flood the desolate and dry places. No one will be able to hide from your presence. It will overflow into the media and every sphere of influence, for nothing can stop what has already begun.
You say my revival fire is here. You say may your cup runneth over with my power and authority. Overflow my children and bring my lost ever near.
I hear the Lord say, “My sons and daughters with all that you have worship me. Don’t you hear the cries of freedom breaking forth. Don’t you hear my fire sparking and setting ablaze my people? Did you hear the rushing wind come and rest on my ecclesia?
“With everything. With everything. Shout forth my praise. Will your hearts cry, be glorified?
“Look up my child and open your mouth as the Holy Spirit breaks the dams you have set up in your soul. Yell, Spirit break forth! Spirit break forth! Streams of living water bubble over and explode like the geyser, Old Faithful. My love is awakening you. My love has transformed you. With unbounding love, love that has no end and has no condition, have I loved you. Now without preference go and love my creation with my love that I have freely given to you.
“For with everything. With everything. Shout forth my praise. Will your hearts cry out, be glorified?”
How can we truly live lives that shout Jesus over everything?
Well, we need the Helper, the one Jesus told his disciples to wait in the Upper Room for. He has always been here and if you believe in Jesus, he lives on the inside of you. You just need to let his power and authority overflow out of you. This is what is being released on the earth right now. You just need to trust that your Father in Heaven has good plans for you and wants to keep no good gift from you.
Like a child, come to the Father with great expectancy. Jesus says come and see. The invitation is always open, come and see. Come and see what the Lord is doing on the earth. Come and see mighty signs and wonders. Come and see and experience a life so full that you will overflow with a love so great. Come and see. I promise you won't want to miss what the Holy Spirit reveals to you.
