Our God is Like Krispy Kreme

So I am currently in Louisiana for my job, and if you have never been to Louisiana then I would highly encourage you to make a trip, if for nothing else, than the food options and cuisine available.  So this week's post may be focused around food and may not be long as I am in a food-coma from my dinner!Krispy Kreme DescriptionWhen I was younger, I would love going to visit my grandfather in Tennessee.  I remember a lot of things about what we would do, but two things always stick out in my mind.  One was our trips to the Fire Department to see the fire trucks.  Second, was the trips to Krispy Kreme.  While I did enjoy the fire trucks, those donuts are simply life-changing! And we all understand the joy that comes when that HOT / NOW light is on.  There is very little better than a fresh Krispy Kreme Doughnut!Think about that smell when you walk into a Krispy Kreme when the light is on.  It almost pulls you in and even the knowledge that the light is on tells you how it will smell when you are inside.  Now think about the smell of a day old, or two-day old doughnut...there really isn't a smell (even though it still tastes good).  I loved going into Krispy Kreme, almost just as much for the smell as for the doughnut itself. The Connection between Krispy Kreme & GodI love our God, because He is always fresh and new.  I can't tell you how many times I have read the Bible and thought that it relates directly to something I am going through at this point in my life.  While the recipe for a Krispy Kreme doughnut hasn't changed over the years, you still can go in and get that hot and now smell.  The word of God is the same way, the words may not have changed over the years, but God can always give you something "hot and now" that relates to you.Hebrews 4:12 - "the Word of God is alive and active."So to keep going with my analogy, you can't get the full enjoyment of a Krispy Kreme doughnut, by simply smelling it.  You have to eat it. In the same vein, you have to open up the Word of God and dive into it, read it and consistently allow it to speak into your life.  Like a Krispy Kreme doughnut, I promise it will change your life!John 6:23 - "Then Jesus declared, "I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry"Now...go open up the Word of God...and get a doughnut...and enjoy both!
