The "Come-Back" begins through Leadership
If you've ever watched basketball or really any sport before you have probably heard this conversation by an announcer or by a coach talking about his team."They showed real poise out there today""They have been here before""The leadership and experience on this team makes everyone else around them better"Its now March Madness so...I was watching a game the other day where one team (the higher ranked team) was losing early in the game by a big amount. They continued to follow their game plan, despite being so far behind. Ultimately (although slowly) they caught back up to the other team, and tied the game. Throughout this "come-back" all the announcers could talk about was how they stayed calm under pressure and it didn't matter how far down they were. They talked about games they had been behind in before and how they came back from those. They talked about how it takes a good coach and upperclassmen on the team to recognize this and keep the composure of the entire team. They are right on all accounts. Experience is simply that, its the result of having something happen to you and knowing how to handle it the next time. Maybe you succeeded the first time, or maybe you failed, but either way, you learned from it.
