You May Stumble, But You Will Not Fall

Ever feel like it's all too much, and all you do is stumble? Like you don't have what it takes? Just that feeling like you are blowing it and the weight is beating you down. Anxious that you don't measure up? Do not fret; you may stumble at times.

There have been so many times I have felt like I couldn't keep going.

Or worse, I keep struggling with the same things. It's not so bad when challenges come. No challenge equals weakness and boredom. Complacency. Life is about overcoming challenges. That's why they pay you the big bucks! But it's when you get stuck, when you get hung up going around the same mountain. That's maddening, draining. That's when you want to stop trying.

You May Stumble

When you lose sight of what matters, that's when you may stumble. When you take your eyes off the prize, you are tripped up by the hang-ups of life. Life is fraught with pain and disappointments, little daily fumbles that try to draw us down.

My strategy used to be the muster the strength and push on. Try again tomorrow. Fight another day. Keep a positive mental attitude, they say... God bless those disciplined people, self-made millionaires. That feels so far away sometimes.

But then, in a flash, I smile. I see another side.

The same wind blows on us all. We are all human. We all stumble sometimes. I look back, and I see. I see I am still here. All of hell and the weights of life have tried to make me fall... but I am still standing.I see it wasn't just me that got me here. Something held me up when I wanted to quit. Something kept my feet on the path when temptation tried to lure me into the mud. Somehow, I kept going when tragedy struck. Someone was there when I kept stumbling in the dark, and step by step, day by day brought me into the Land of the Living.Because I have loved Him, He upheld me. When nothing else could. He held me up.

"The Lord makes firm the steps of the one who delights in him; though he may stumble, he will not fall, for the Lord upholds him with his hand." - Psalm 37: 23-24 NLT
