23 Minutes in Hell

Pastor Bill Wiese had an out of body experience, or what can be called a vision, of hell on November 23rd 1998. Recently I stumbled across a YouTube video of Pastor Bill sharing that vision with a church in Florida based on his book, “23 Minutes in Hell.” I had never heard of Bill until I came across this video a week ago so I came into it with quite a bit of skepticism. However, after listening to Bill I appreciated his approach especially when he said early on;

“It doesn’t matter if you believe my experience. What matters is that you check out what God has to say about hell and avoid it just the same”

Bill delivered on his quote by referencing numerous bible verses as he told about his vision. He referenced so many scriptures speaking about hell that God prompted me to put this blog post together that summarized some of those scriptures. So, take some time and read through these verses and just try to imagine what hell is truly like. If you haven’t given your life to Christ these passages are what you have coming for all of eternity, unless you give your life over to Christ (more on that later). If you have given your life to Christ and are going to heaven rejoice and thank God that you will never have to experience hell. Thankfully Christ took our punishment of hell and we should never take that for granted!

If you haven’t given your life to Christ yet I urge you to seriously consider it. For the bible tells us that we will not know the time of his return. If he does return and you haven’t given your life to him the verdict will be an eternity in hell. Not the Hollywood version of hell either, but literally spending an eternity in a pit of fire. If you are ready to take the step of faith please read the prayer below;Dear heavenly Father, I want to take this moment to submit my life to you. I ask that you forgive me of my sins, which such a gracious gift is given only through your anointed blood on the cross. If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. - Romans 10:9-10 (NIV)
