Husbands Lead Your Wife in a Dance

I want to give credit to this post to my friend Nathanael who I met at a dinner one evening. His words were too good not to share. Are you a dancer? Have you ever seen anyone dance correctly? Dancing is a form of art and if done correctly it really is quite impressive.Living in Miami there's one particular dance that I became accustomed to seeing done extremely well... Salsa. Salsa is a very unique dance and one that, while structured, provides a lot of freedom and ability to be creative. There are; however, a few things that need to be done in salsa dancing to make it effective.1. The man must know what he is doing and confidently lead his partner2. The woman must trust and unconditionally follow the man wherever he leads3. The man needs to know the strengths of his partner and lead her in a way that shows them offThe Salsa can be seen as a way for the woman to be shown off. However, the woman is not showing off herself, the man is doing it for her.

Men need to lead and have the ability to showcase the strengths of their significant other.

As my friend Nathanael was describing this to me in great detail, he began to bring it back towards relating it to marriage and the relationship between men and women. In short, men need to not only be leaders of the relationship but understand their partners in a way in which they can show off their strengths and love them. On the other side, the woman has to trust that the man will lead in this way and follow him unconditionally.

Wives follow the lead of your husbands as you follow the Lord. The husband is the head of the wife, just as Christ is the head of the church. The church is Christ's body. He is its Savior. - Ephesians 5:22-23 NIRV

There are a lot of similarities in dancing and marriage, but the key is that it is a single cohesive team (not two people acting selfishly) that has a true leader that understands the strengths of both people. NOW GO SALSA!

"Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything. Husbands love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless. In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself." - Ephesians 5:24-33 NIRV

Husbands lead your wife in a dance (and wives follow his lead), don't just dance individually beside each other.
