At Your Weakest Moments, Do Not Give Up

I can only begin to tell you the amount of times I have wanted to give up.  Give up when the going got tough, give up on serving, give up on my job and other things going on in my life.  I just wanted to give up on it all.  Often times I have even wanted to give up on some of my friendships.  At times, I felt like I just needed a break.  But its weird, because it was during those times when I was able to dig in the hardest. I was able to press in like I never have before.  As long as we focus only on what we can only see with our physical eyes, the enemy can continue to run rampant in our lives underneath the surface.Being a believer doesn’t give you immunity from the assaults of the enemy, but it does give you access to the power of God.  He has the power to defend you and reverse what has been done to you. If you want to win the fight, if you want to join me in flipping the script, pinning down the enemy, and crippling his impact in your life... the key is realizing you’re connected to more spiritual brawn than whatever is coming against you.

Four Reasons to Press On

  1. No on else is going to do it for you.  You are the only person you can rely on.
  2. Quitting means failing and failure is not an option.
  3. If I have it within me, then so does everyone else, they just need to see it's possible.
  4. Jesus didn't quit, so why would I think I am allowed to?

To give up just isn't an option and it serves no purpose.  There's no reason to even speak about giving up, because it's not allowed. Giving up means you don't believe in yourself and if you don't believe in yourself, how can others?  Having faith in your own abilities is what build character and sharpens you.  Some of the toughest seasons are when God is molding us into who we are suppose to be.  It's uncomfortable, it's out of the norm for most of us.  To be honest, I would sometimes rather stay in my comfort zones.

"But as for you, be strong and do not give up, for your work will be rewarded." 2 Chronicles 15:7

The enemy would love nothing more than for us to give up on the things our hearts desire the most.  To put hurdles and huge boulders in our way to prevent us from accomplishing our dreams.  The time is now.  Step over those hurdles with grace, and finish the race God has laid out for you.  You are not a quitter.

"But they who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint." Isaiah 40:31

When Pressing on Seems Exhausting

The enemy is great at reminding us of our struggles.  He strategically places reminders, regrets and people from our past back in our life to prevent us from reaching the higher ground we look for.  We feel ourselves being backed into a corner.  Over the last 4 months, my schedule has simply exhausted me.  There was never any open space for me, to just do nothing.  I longed for the season where I was on top of the world. As Pastor Petey Bingham reminds us, don't you know, those mountaintop seasons never seem to last as long as the deep valley seasons?  Great, so the tough times are going to last longer than the great times.  Why press on?

We have to persevere and be living proof that God does work miracles in the mayhem. We have to stay faithful to our prayers.  I have been praying over 11 months for a situation in my life to change.  Can I be honest and tell you, God showed up last month?  Just when I was ready to give up, I reached out to some friends in my life and they joined me in prayer and breakthrough happened. Even when situations seems empty, or circumstances you may be in appear to be black holes, there is bountiful reward in black holes.
