Only Jesus can give you the confidence to jump off your boat.

Matthew 4:18-22As Jesus was walking beside the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon called Peter and his brother Andrew. They were casting a net into the lake, for they were fishermen. “Come, follow me,” Jesus said,“and I will send you out to fish for people.” At once they left their nets and followed him. Going on from there, he saw two other brothers, James son of Zebedee and his brother John. They were in a boat with their father Zebedee, preparing their nets. Jesus called them, and immediately they left the boat and their father and followed him.I only have one question after reading this passage...What if they didn't get out of the boat?Would Jesus have found other men to replace them?  Probably.  But I am 100% positive that the lives of Peter, Andrew, James and John would have been drastically different (and not for the better).I love that it says each of these men "immediately" left what they were doing to follow Christ.  In order to do this, you have to have some serious confidence and trust in the person you are following to leave everything.  The confidence they had to make such a drastic action is something I believe we each need to have as we follow Jesus' example, and something I wish I had more of.  Imagine if you IMMEDIATELY did everything that God told you to do.  You may think you would do it, but how many times have we questioned ourselves when our heart tells us to do something.Go talk to that person...help that lady...give that man some money...go pray with that gentleman...walk away from that situation...turn the TV off...It happens more than you think.  Just begin to notice it, and step out in faith a couple of times and you'll see that God wont disappoint.  And when He comes through for you, you will begin to build that confidence that will make you jump out of your boat every time Jesus calls your name.  Don't let the story end with you staying on the boat...JUMP!
