Roller Coaster of Emotions

Our generation tends to ride a wild roller coaster of emotions. A roller coaster that has its fair share of up and downs, twists and flips, and some pretty crazy turns. But in the end of every roller coaster, it always evens out. How do we even out our emotional roller coaster? By simply having and executing C.O.U.R.A.G.E.

C- Captivate your thoughts.

We can't allow the enemy to speak louder into our mind than we allow God to. If there is ever a negative thought that enters your mind, rebuke it and replace it with something positive, something that God says about you.

"We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ." - 2 Corinthians 10:5

O- Open your eyes and ears, not your mouth.

We have two ears and one mouth so we can listen twice as much as we speak. Wisdom is a gift not obtained by blurting out the first thing that comes to your mind. Learn from others success and failure, it will save you the time of going through them yourself.

"A wise son heeds his father’s instruction, but a mocker does not respond to rebukes." - Proverbs 13:1

U- Unbelieve moments change your perspective of life.

Never allow yourself to become so busy, that you miss out on even the smallest miracles. A simple text of encouragement from a friend, or witnessing kindness from a stranger, is a small miracle to show us that not all hope is lost in the world.

“With man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God.” - Mark 10:27

R- Raise your eyes, not your eyebrows.

For some reason we are so quick to judge others, rather than allowing God to do that part. It is Gods job to judge, the Holy Spirits job to convict, and it's our job to love. Don't overstep your bounds! Look to God and see what He is instructing you to do.

"But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be children of the Most High, because he is kind to the ungrateful and wicked." - Luke 6:35

A- Always listen to God.

There are times in life where there are so many voices speaking into our lives, that we can't even decipher who is God and who is not. Just like talking to your parents or best friend, the more you speak to them, the more you recognize their voice over anyone else's. It doesn't matter if you're in a crowded place or not, their voice stands out to you because you've spent so much time in communication with them. Do the same with God. In our weakest moments, we must turn to God the most because that is the exact time the enemy will try to creep into your mind and plant lies and deceit.

"My son, if you receive my words and treasure up my commandments with you, making your ear attentive to wisdom and inclining your heart to understanding; yes, if you call out for insight and raise your voice for understanding, if you seek it like silver and search for it as for hidden treasures, then you will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God." - Proverbs 2:1-5

G- Give it to God.

God says to do all you can do and when you can do no more, give it to Him. Too often we forget the last part and cling to our stress and hold tight to the last bit of control we have. But there is one thing we have to realize, unless we have given God full control over our life, He can't steer us in the right direction. He can point it out, but until we release full control to Him, we are the ones steering our life. With no direction and no idea where we're going, we're bound to wind up completely wrecked. Give God full control over your life!

"Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path." - Psalm 119:105

E- Enjoy the ride!

Yes, life is gonna have its ups and down, its twist and flips, and its crazy turns, but that's what keeps it interesting. If we always knew what to expect, life would be pretty boring.

"Trust in the Lord, and do good; dwell in the land and befriend faithfulness. Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart." - Psalm 37:3-4
