The Bible is God’s letter to you, open it and experience the power of His words first hand.

Sometimes God likes to speak to me through the small things that happen that no one else will notice.   Maybe that’s because I am a person that is very detail oriented, or maybe its because that’s where God can be seen the best (1 Kings 19:11-13).Regardless of the reason, God did it again Wednesday night.  While I was listening to our pastor speak at the young adult service at my church, he began to read a scripture from the stage.  Now this is not an uncommon thing, as our pastors and church are very biblically focused (which is one of the reasons I love my church so much).  However, God didn’t speak to me through the verse itself, He spoke to me through what came next, and I promise no one else noticed it.Immediately after the pastor finished reading the verse, a handful of people began to applaud.  It wasn’t an eruption of applause or shouts and hollars, but a small group of people scattered around the arena. Now most people wouldn’t think anything about it, but God spoke to me very clearly when I heard this.  Simply put He said to me, “Look at the power of My Word.” He was right (as He normally is).  The simple speaking of words from the Bible affected people to a point they felt they needed to applaud what was spoken.  The Pastor said nothing else to enhance the verse or add his own flavor to it that made them react, it was the straight word of God that brought the reaction.I love that God’s word, after years and years of being written can still elicit a response from our generation.  The simple fact that we have a book (the Bible) with words directly from our God blows my mind.  God’s word is a tool that we can use throughout our lives for direction, answers, wisdom, comfort, joy, and pretty much anything else you need.  It will never be out of date and it can always help you through what you are going through.   God has given us a great tool to use to be able to hear His voice, all we have to do is open it up and read it.How many times have you thought to yourself, “I wish God would just speak to me.”?  If you got a letter in the mail addressed from God to you wouldn’t you open it to see what He wrote to you?  The Bible is God’s letter to you, open it and listen to what He wants to tell you.Hebrews 4:12For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.Romans 10:17So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.2 Timothy 3:16All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness,John 1:1In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

God doesn't want you to fear Him so much that you must obey Him, He wants you to love Him so much that you long to please Him.
