How Long, O Lord?
Mass murders. Racism. Hurricanes. War. Abortions. Slavery. Fear. Hate. Pride. Why, Lord? Just how long must it go on?Scripture says, “How long will you hide your face from me? How long must I take counsel in my soul and have sorrow in my heart all day? How long shall my enemy be exalted over me?” (Psalm 13:1-2)
How long must we mourn and grieve? If I am being honest, I don’t want to grieve. I don’t want to be troubled. I don’t want to fight daily for truth and love. It’s exhausting in my own power.
But praise God we don’t operate in our own strength. Praise God that He promises His strength to guide and lead us. Praise God we live for Him and not our own desires. Lord, help us to live for you and find you to be our greatest joy and treasure amidst the troubles of our world!

We have a great hope. A hope the world does not offer. “But I have trusted in your steadfast love; my heart shall rejoice in your salvation. I will sing to the Lord, because he has dealt bountifully with me.” (Psalm 13:5-6)
His love is steadfast and never ending.
We shall rejoice in His salvation of our souls. We will sing because of His bountiful love and grace that he pours upon us. If that is not enough, we won’t be satisfied. We will seek what the world offers if we don’t find Him to be enough.Let us grieve with those who grieve and mourn with those who mourn. And let us speak truth and love over lies and hate. Allow us to be the lamp on the stand that gives light to everyone.
Let us fight against every injustice in our world.
God may hide his face, but he has not left us and the enemy will not prevail. We await the day where the enemy is defeated and we fight because we have hope. Hope in the day where “He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.” (Revelation 21:4)
