I Heard God Speak, He Said "I’m Still Here" (This is For You)
As I was sitting one night twiddling my pencil searching for words to share with the DailyPS community, something occurred to me; I had nothing to write about. Nothing to share, nothing exciting to speak, no new spiritual revelation; nothing. Great way to start off searching for inspiration, right? So, I asked "God, what do people need to know? What is something that you’re desperately trying to share?" This was what God placed on my heart to share: "I'm still here".
“Tell them that I’ve not given up. That I’m still here, I haven’t handed over my world my children to anything. Tell them I am relentless in my pursuit, and nothing that happens here can shock me.”
Okay that’s enough, right? Boom mic drop, walk away, article ends here. Perhaps for some that is enough; it made me think though. It made me think about a lot of things. About recent events and chaos that is happening in the world. It made me think about my friends or members of my family that I haven’t had a moment to connect with. Then it made me think of God, of His character and of my own encounters with God. Encounters where He took moments to show me time and time again that He is in fact, relentless.

I’ve been listening to the Hillsong’s Wonder album, a lot lately. On their album there’s a song called So Will I (100 Billion X). Yesterday on my ride home from work I was listening to this song on repeat. I realized that this song beautifully summarizes God and His wonder, greatness and simply the beauty of God in all existence. I was so moved that I played it on repeat for the full 45-minute rush hour drive home.
Verse from 'So I Will' by Hillsong:
And as You speakA hundred billion failures disappearWhere You lost Your life so I could find it hereIf You left the grave behind You so will II can see Your heart in everything You’ve doneEvery part designed in a work of art called loveIf You gladly chose surrender so will II can see Your heartEight billion different waysEvery precious one a child You died to saveIf You gave Your life to love them so will I
Summed up these lyrics are saying that God has left us countless signs to show us that He is still here. He has not surrendered or given up on His promises. You can see them everywhere from sunsets, stars, to the pure joy that comes from your children and to everything in between. Everything God has done is not in vein and He’s still here and until those signs disappear until those glimmers of God’s love disappear then there is nothing to fear. Until those signs disappear and everything turns to black there is no reason to stop searching for those clues, pursuing the things that matter to God.
Your beauty and love chase after me every day of my life. - Psalm 23:6 MSG
You see, I think there’s something that comes with humanity, when things look grim and when times look tough that’s all we can fixate our eyes on. But God is saying no, there’s still beauty, there’s still promises left to be finished. Just as God is the alpha and the omega the beginning and the end, what He has started He will surely finish. If God says He’s still in pursuit, then that means there’s still a story to be told and life to unfold.
