Weeping may remain for a night, but joy comes in the morning.

Years ago I went through a very difficult time in my life. I came to a point where I realized that I needed to get serious in my walk with God. I knew that the direction, in which I was heading, was not going to land me in a destination that I wanted to be in. I clearly knew that I had to make some difficult decisions and changes in order end up in a better place for my future. The main decision that I had to make was to truly follow Jesus; not just to be a guy who goes to church on Sunday and say the right things. I knew that I needed to truly surrender my life to Him. There were some things in my life that needed to change...Once I had made this decision to truly begin following Jesus by living completely for Him, some things became difficult for me. I had to change my lifestyle and habits. I could no longer hang out in the places that I was hanging out in and I needed to say goodbye to some close friends that were pulling me away from Jesus. When I first started to change, I remember it being very difficult and not enjoyable. However, I very quickly learned how to endure through this season; and that was to focus on getting to know who God really is.What made all the difference in beginning to build that personal relationship with God during that time and what helped me be successful; was reading the Bible and being in prayer. It may sounds like the standard Christian answer, but it is true. I found bible verses that really helped me and encouraged me by helping me understand that God was with me through that time. One verse that stuck out to me during that difficult season was Psalm 30:5, which reads; "Weeping may remain for a night, but joy comes in the morning." I want to break down how this verse has spoken to me:Weeping may remain for a night. If you are in a place like I was, a place that isn't comfortable, a place that makes you feel alone, and a place that you cannot wait to be out of. I encourage you to remember this part of Psalm 30:5. Weeping may remain for a night. Your difficult situations are always temporary. God will see the faithful out of every endeavor. Remain strong, stay faithful, God will see you through the difficult times in your life.Rejoicing comes in the morning.Once I finally got through the difficult times by truly living for God, my life was forever changed... My life has only gotten better since I made the choice to live for Him. I am very thankful for verses like this one that helped me so much, and that still help me when a trial presents itself. Psalm 118:24 says; "Today is the day the LORD has made. Rejoice and be glad in it." Find a way to be joyful every day. Even in the worst of seasons, find something to thank God for.I can promise that you will be successful in making it through every difficult time that you are in if you stay in the Bible and in prayer. Do not seek happiness, because happiness is temporary and based off your current circumstances. Instead, seek joy. Joy comes from Jesus and is a permanent state of mind. No matter what you are going through, remember that it is temporary. Remain faithful; joy will come in the morning!
