Losing Focus and Losing Sight - Part 2

As we continue to Think of Heaven from part 1, we can move to another focus point. This next one will help keep us spiritually fed and keep our hearts and minds on what matters most.

Pray and ask God to reveal your mission to you.

Our MISSION in life is not to focus on having a perfect family. We may think the tangible things in life are important, but we know this is not the correct way to think. Yes having overflowing blessings and taking the easy road seem like the perfect walk, but it's not. We are to be disciples of Jesus and reach those who don't know of him and stand firm in our faith.

“Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong. Do everything in love.” - 1 Corinthians 16:13-14

I find myself caught up in simple things and not focusing on the mission God has for me… The mission is not to be the most popular on social media as some of us may think. Having the coolest pictures on Pinterest will not fulfill our MISSION.

“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.” Hebrews 12:1-3

Find Your Focus

Jesus Christ is on battlefield, not social media, which I have struggled with myself, causing me to lose focus. The struggle is real. A real, purposeful life is not in a perfect picture, our MISSION is not to take the perfect selfie. We must die to ourselves, our flesh and our sinful ways to be more Christ like. We are set free and are slaves to RIGHTEOUSNESS, which is good news.

“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.” Ephesians 6:10-17

Do Not Lose Your Focus

Showcasing our lives by the way we live and act as Christians is the most effective. When we SHOW others our love of Christ, our mission is simple. Walking the walk and not just offering up lip service is the real MISSION. The walk is not easy, but God is strong when we are weak.
