New Year! New Decade! New Start! New You!

Two thousand and Nineteen has come and gone; it is but only a memory stored in our hearts forever. I don't know about you, but 2019 was quite a year for me. I endured many ups and downs, had more life decisions than any other year. Many blessings took place also (I BECAME A MOTHER!) but I still had hardships. In 2019 I grew more spiritually than any other time in my life! God used this past year to not only grow and mold me, but also to strengthen and equip me for the next season of my life: 2020! A new year is what I am ready for. There is something about December 31st that gets us thinking of all the things we can improve, change, or just plain want to do over the course of the next year! We make New Year's Resolutions and are filled with a new hope that this next year is going to be the best year yet! Whether it's to lose 15 pounds, start our own business, go back to school, start a family, or retire; we all have hopes and dreams that are reignited right after Christmas. However, as time goes on, our resolutions start to lose fire and next thing we know. We've given up all hope of achieving them. Here are 6 New Year's Resolutions that will help you stay motivated and achieve all you want to succeed to make 2020 your best year ever!

Resolution # 1 Let go and forgive

Let go of everything that wasn't good for you whether it be old friendships, habits, or even paths and move forward. Move forward with what GOD has for you this new year! Forgive and allow God, to not only dig out the anger, hurt, bitterness, but fill up the holes that were left in you with His fruits!Ephesians 4:31-32 NIV "Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice: And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you."

Resolution # 2 Ask God into every situation

By inviting God into every and all of your situations, you're allowing Him to have control. You're depending on His all powerful strength, instead of your own very limited strength.Matthew 7:7 NIV "Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you!"

Resolution # 3 Overuse the power of Prayer!

Truth is, you can never pray too much, so make it a goal to try to over use this gift! Prayer is a very powerful thing... so use it!!!Philippians 4:6-7 NIV "do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."

Resolution # 4 Make a habit to do daily Devotions...DAILY!!!

We have so many plans for our ourselves, but we don't really know God's for us. By reading His Word every day, we get to know the truth about our Heavenly Father. The truth about His plans for us! That way when the Enemy (Satan) tries to disrupt us with confusion, we are rooted in the TRUTH. We don't stumble, because we know the plans that God has for us!Joshua 1:8 "This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success."

Resolution # 5 Serve others!

I find that when I continue to serve at my church during times of hardship, I get over and through my trials and tribulations quicker. Much quicker than I would when I don't. There is something about serving that benefits us! Try it this new year.Mark 10:45 "For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many."

Resolution # 6 Don't be afraid to let your LIGHT shine!

In Good and Bad, let the light and joy of the Lord shine through you. We are the temples of God and you never know who needs to experience Him through you! Never give up...unless you give it up to God!Psalm 89:15 "Blessed are those who have learned to acclaim you, who walk in the light of your presence, O LORD."

Happy New Year, My Friends!

This is OUR new year! So take your new start and follow these resolutions to becoming the new you that you're destined to be! God is going to do incredible things in your life this year. Be ready because perseverance makes way for purpose!!!
