Not the Message About Unity We Deserve But the One We Need

There's no hiding it or staying away from the topic any longer, racial justice is at the forefront of the minds of every man and woman in the United States. I've battled with how to respond myself. Watch the video that I posted on social media. The one thing I've known (that most people cannot see) is that the answer can be found in one word, unity.Disclaimer: It's been a while since I've started with a disclaimer. This post may come across as harsh or mean, and I don't mean for it to be. What I am sharing is truth, which sometimes hurts, I am coming from a place of love. Please keep that in mind.I've stepped up and done my part to connect with every person I know who's skin is a different color than mine to talk to them about how they feel and how they believe I can help. I did this to create unity among believers and the American people. I have a small sphere of influence, but I reached out to support everyone I could. But, I could not wait to hear how pastors, with much larger influential reach than I have, would share with their congregations.

I was disappointed with what I watched and listened to.

Here's why I say this: I believed that pastors would seek God and share from a place of facts and biblical principles, instead, I listened to emotional response after emotional response of pastors sharing "what the people want to hear." The messages shared from stages across the country at churches were just as bad as the world's response to the racial injustice we're facing.I remember thinking to myself, "Surely, there must be a highly influential pastor sharing from a factual, biblical perspective out there." So, I began searching and listening to sermons from large churches... I couldn't seem to find a helpful message from any church!

But then, I found it! The unity message that we need!

Well, a friend of mine, and fellow DailyPS writer, Brian Maisch, found it and sent it to me. Finally, the message that I consider to be the unity message we all need right now! And guess what? It just happens to be in my hometown, the Bold City itself, Jacksonville, Florida! (#Duuuval) Anyway, back on track here...The following 4 part series was preached by Pastor George Davis, the lead pastor at Impact Church. This is one of the only messages inspired by God that I've heard. (Contrary to popular belief, preaching from a place of emotion and (or) seeking man's approval is not biblical.)As many of you know, I don't watch much TV... So throughout COVID-19, I've not binge watched anything, this 4 part series is the first bit of content that I couldn't stop watching. It's that good and truly inspired by God!Below are the video links which start right when the message starts for each of them. I encourage you to go through each of these if you really want to learn how to be productive and build unity during these tough racial times that the USA is facing.
