What do you believe about God's response to prayers?
"God, why is this happening? I'm tired of my job, I'm burned out, and I am ready to give up. Surely, this cannot be your plan for my life. Things just don't seem to be going the way I thought you wanted them to. Please help me."-MelissaMost of us have been at this point in our careers, schooling, or relationships. These situations are very real for us as Christians. This week, I will be trying something different. I am going to be answering prayers from fictional people, based upon what God tells us about himself in the bible.Dearest Melissa,My beautiful, gentle, loving daughter, how I long to have you home again. I love you more than mere words could ever explain. How I long to simply come down and rescue you from the pains of your existence. Please understand, my dear, that the pain you feel is not from me. The truth is, I hate the evil in your world. It hurts me oh so much to see that you are in pain. How I wish that evil had not entered your world. I am afraid it was, however, an inevitability; From the moment I created mankind in my own image - mankind was destined to make a choice, spurned by curiosity, to partake in the apple in the garden of Eden, and thusly to gain knowledge of evil.My love, I know that this is a difficult time for you. It is incredibly difficult for me to keep you at this job and to allow this misery to persist, but it must. My daughter, this time in your life is only a grain of sand in the endless sand dunes of eternity. This is only temporary, and in this you have a great opportunity to acquire a skill that cannot be acquired by any other means. Through this time in your life, you will learn how to persevere, how to make the best out of a bad situation.I have you here not because I simply want you to acquire another skill set; I have you here because of the anointing I have on your life. My daughter, I say this as only a father could, this will make you better. I need you to make it through this so that you will be a rock that others can lean on in times of adversity. Because of this season you will learn how to stay positive, and you will learn how to encourage others, because you have been through worse. Because of this unique attribute, we will save many souls away from our enemy. Our enemy seeks to break your will, to get you to surrender.Please, my daughter, do not give up.
