We Are Just Part Of The Process

It is amazing how important each step of the process is in anything; every business, adventure, marriage, or whatever it is usually requires a process. In a large business, the profitable bottom line is very exciting but it takes a place of operation, co-workers, janitors, and delivery of product to name a few aspects. In an adventure, it takes careful planning of the items to bring, the cost of the trip, where to stay, and traveling long hours. In a marriage, it takes a solid foundation, commitment, trust, love, and joy, all which require collaborative work to establish. Then, at the end of it all, we usually are proud of the bottom line of our business, or the hike to the top of the mountain or the marriage that was God honoring and produced loving children to carry on the legacy. But each step of the process was just as important to see the final result.I am the type of person that likes to think about the end picture and forget some of the details that are required to get to that point. I am grateful that God doesn’t look at us as a big picture. I am thankful God knows every detail of our lives and also sees our big picture of our destiny on this Earth and in heaven.In 1 Corinthians 3, Paul is addressing the church that is still living in a worldly manner, possessing jealousy and quarreling among each other and following the disciples lead as opposed to following the foundation Jesus laid. As verse 11 states, “For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ.” Christ has already laid the foundation, and we are “co-workers in God’s service” and “the one who plants and the one who waters has one purpose.” That purpose is to serve God and be rewarded for our own labor.You are important! You are needed in the kingdom of God! Whether your calling right now is mopping the floors of a large business or whether you are the large business owner, God is only looking for your faithfulness and obedience. The worldly mindset says your low paying job doesn’t matter but your Godly mindset has power over that thought. The power to say my job matters and I am going to be faithful in my position and perform for Christ and no one else.1 Corinthians 3:5-7: What, after all, is Apollos? And what is Paul? Only servants, through whom you came to believe—as the Lord has assigned to each his task. 6 I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God has been making it grow. 7 So neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow.1 Corinthians 3:10-11: By the grace God has given me, I laid a foundation as a wise builder, and someone else is building on it. But each one should build with care. 11 For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ.
