Shining your light in the storm

There is something about the storms of our lives that dim the light that lives within us. What is it that happens to us and our faith when the rainstorms of life clash together? A tornado? A hurricane? What if, instead of allowing these storms (our issues) to destroy the world around us, we destroy them with our faith!

I very often times like to use a definition in my posts and as I read the definition of light it sparked excitement within my heart!
Light:the natural agent that stimulates sight and makes things visible.
LIGHT is the NATURAL agent that stimulates SIGHT and makes things VISIBLE!
Here are 3 necessary things to remember when your light seems to be dimming because of your storms:
1. Light is NATURAL
Darkness is not. When God created the world, He didn't create day and then leave us in the darkness of night; no, He created two lights: one to rule the day and the other to rule the night. Light isn't something we have to work on. Its not something that we have to use tools and steps to spark within us. God knew what He was doing when He created the very light that shines within us, because He is light! We were made in the image of the Almighty and His light is a natural agent within our soul! When your storms are raging and you can't see, call on Him and ask for His light to shine through you!
Psalm 43:3 "Send forth your light and your truth, let them guide me; let them bring me to your holy mountain, to the place where you dwell."
Psalm 18:28 " You, O LORD, keep my lamp burning; my God turns my darkness into light."
2. Light stimulates SIGHT!
Without light, we would be rendered sightless. Without light, we can't see the truth of what is in front of us and what is to come.
Sometimes during our storms, we let (often unknowingly) our light dim to the point that we are surrounded by total darkness and depression. Our minds can't comprehend what we are experiencing nor how to get out of it. The enemy's whole purpose is to take us to the darkness of his wickedness, so we are rendered weak in his playing grounds. But light is natural in us! God is in us and He WILL shine a light in your darkest time so that you can see the attacks on your life, dodge the enemies bullets, and be guided by God's love and peace.
Matthew 5:16 "In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may SEE your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven." John 12:35 "So Jesus said to them, “The light is among you for a little while longer. Walk while you have the light, lest darkness overtake you. The one who walks in the darkness does not know where he is going."Isaiah 42:16 "And I will lead the blind in a way that they do not know, in paths that they have not known I will guide them. I will turn the darkness before them into light, the rough places into level ground. These are the things I do, and I do not forsake them."
3. Light makes things VISIBLE!Vision is different from sight. Vision comes from God and with the light of the Holy Spirit in us, we can have vision of days to come; a plan that God has for us. So during our treacherous storms, we can know the outcome, because we know the Father, and He has given us a vision for our future.
Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope!"
Ephesians 5:8 “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden."
Proverbs 29:18 "Where there is no vision, the people perish"
There might be times, where the light from the sun (Son) is hidden by the clouds of our storms, but our faith is knowing that it does not mean that the sun (Son) is gone forever! That a little rain can't extinguish its flame! For the Sun (Son) is far more powerful than any storm on this earth, and even in the darkness of night, in the shadows of a hurricane, the sun (Son) still shines providing light, warmth, and the promise of a new day to come.

John 1:5 "The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it."So the next time your going through a storm of your own, whether it be the loss of someone close, a breakup, loss of a job, or any circumstance that has brought you into darkness, remember that YOU have the LIGHT of CHRIST within yourself, and YOU have the ability to see the outcome and shine your light through the storms, :)Isaiah 60:1 "Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you."
