Tomorrow is Good and Bad (It's What You Make of It)
Tomorrow.Tomorrow is an interesting time. It always exists for us to look ahead to, and it never goes away. Every day, just as sure as the sun rises, there is always a tomorrow.I thought I knew what I wanted to write about when I started, but I realized there are two sides to tomorrow that I need to focus on. Different Biblical principles that if not careful, can be confusing and appear to contradict each other.
1. Tomorrow is Good
2. Tomorrow is Bad
I was originally going to write about not worrying about tomorrow, but let's see where this takes us.
1. Tomorrow is Good (Grace)
We all know that if I have the opportunity I am going to use a sports analogy to try and make my point. In most any sport, there are times when you don't do quite as well as you would have liked. Maybe you missed a free-throw. Maybe you threw an interception. Maybe you made a double-bogey on a hole. Maybe you struck out. Regardless of the sport, anyone who tries to encourage you after one of these occurrences is going to say something like, "keep your head up, you'll get another shot at it." In other words, and you may have heard this phrase... "tomorrow is a new day."Sure today may not be exactly how you imagined it, but God saw it in His great love and grace to make more than one day (Genesis 1:4-5)to give us a new chance and a fresh start everyday. Lamentations says is well in chapter 3 verses 22-24.Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. I say to myself, “The Lord is my portion; therefore I will wait for him.”Tomorrow is something we should always be excited about, God gives us new life and love every morning! Praise Him for that!
2. Tomorrow is Bad (Procrastination & Worry)
Now I know I just said that tomorrow should be something we are excited about. And it should be, however that doesn't mean we should do two things the Bible tells us not to do with tomorrow. Procrastinate & Worry.

So lets stick with the sports theme. Think about watching your favorite football team play and the quarterback throws a ball to the receiver. The receiver right before he catches it, turns his head and looks downfield or at the defense. What happens? More times than not, he drops the ball. In golf if you start thinking about your overall score or the next hole and not the current hole you are on, then you begin to effect your performance on the present hole.
Procrastinate - Proverbs 3:28 - "Do not say to your neighbor, “Come back tomorrow and I’ll give it to you” when you already have it with you."Worry - Matthew 6:34 - "Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own."
I thought about trying to write more about those topics, but I what to let those verses speak for themselves, which may be different for every person reading this.Tomorrow is a day that God has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it, but use tomorrow for what it was meant for, a fresh start, a renewal, grace. Don't use it to put off something, or stress out/worry about the struggles that may be coming.Tomorrow can be good if you let it, or it can be bad if you let it. Let it be good!
