Question: What is more important to show first grace or truth?
That is like asking which is more important hydrogen or oxygen. You need both for water. We all fall somewhere along the grace and truth spectrum. We gravitate to grace and love or truth and holiness. Jesus is the only one who combined both grace and truth – John 1:17.Which side of the spectrum do you lean toward? Which one do you think I lean most toward? I am a truth and holiness guy. It is my natural instinct. I have to rely upon the Holy Spirit to balance truth with grace.

As Christians, most of us struggle to balance these two things. Holiness people come across as harsh and legalistic while grace people come across as permissive almost promiscuous, soft on sin, anything goes.
Question: How do you avoid watering down Truth in the Bible with the grace of Jesus?
You can’t water down Truth with grace. Grace is the most important truth in the Bible. The question comes from the Truth side of the spectrum. Ephesians 4:15 says to speak the truth in love. Do we as Christians have the option to be unloving? Of course not! Do we as Christians have the option to be untruthful? Last time I checked, we call that lying.
Question: How do you tell someone that their actions don’t align with the Bible in a loving way that doesn’t come across mean or like you’re looking down at them?
People have a built-in radar for what is real, true and authentic. They smell hypocrisy or hate. People are more intuitive than we give them credit for. You have to know your own heart. Are you filled compassion? Do you hurt for the person? Or are you mad at the person? Do you hate the person? Do their actions disgust you? What is true of you will come through.
Question: “What is my Christian friend lives with his girlfriend; should I say something?”
Depends on your definition of friendship. Depends on whether you are a biblical friend. (Proverbs 27:6) Faithful are the wounds of a friend, deceitful are the kisses of an enemy.
