You Are Forgiven
You have been forgiven. Seriously, you are forgiven. Freely, purely, and unadulterated – you have been forgiven. Forgiveness when it is undeserved is a difficult concept for many of us to really grasp. Most of us look back at our pasts with shame, wondering how God could possibly forgive us, how we could possibly be wiped clean. You are forgiven.Throughout my short time in ministry, I’ve noticed that nearly everybody struggles with some degree of guilt and un-forgiveness. From sexual impurity, to stealing, and even murderers – I’ve spoken with many different people who are entirely sold out to God, yet they have not come to know God’s forgiveness. What is forgiveness? How do I get it? Why do I deserve it? These are questions that humanity has pondered for millennia, and I’d like to address them today.

In the beginning of time on earth, there was good and evil. God was on earth, and Satan prowled the earth. God created Adam and Eve with His own DNA, so that He could delight in us (think about that one - Mind Blown). Adam and Eve made a choice, and they gained knowledge of evil. From that point on, man had a choice – we are imparted with God DNA, therefor our bodies and spirits are inherently designed to run optimally while doing good, but we could choose evil. From that day forward, man began to sin.Imagine your favorite niece, nephew, daughter, son, or dog (cats are excluded, sorry); if that precious being in your life were to do something against you – perhaps even poop in your bedroom, you would be mad, but inevitably your unconditional love would lead you to forgiveness. This is a microcosm of how God works – except the emotions he feels are multiplied by billions. When we sin, it hurts him more than we could ever imagine – yet the love he feels for us is one trillion times larger than we could ever imagine, and it is because of His love that He chooses to forgive us. You are forgiven.
It is because of God's love that He chooses to forgive us.
How do I receive forgiveness? Y’all know that look a puppy gives you after he does something he knows he shouldn’t? That look that melts your heart? That is precisely how God sees us, but He only sees us when we have that look – because we know we have done something wrong. It is only when we come to God and ask Him for forgiveness – genuine repentance, that we are forgiven, and set free from our sin.We do not deserve forgiveness, because it is freely given, but God gives it to us anyways. I cannot stress this enough, you are forgiven because God loves you. He is the perfect father, and He wants all of us to succeed. By virtue of our very DNA, God’s DNA, we cannot run optimally with evil inside of us. We are made to run with Jesus grade diesel. When we turn to God and ask for His forgiveness, His love leads Him to freely and completely forgive us, and our bodies and spirits are restored from sin, and we are given a fresh tank of gas. You are forgiven, and you are made complete.[easy-tweet tweet="We do not deserve forgiveness, because it is freely given, but God gives it to us anyways." via="no" hashtags="DailyPS"]
