Are you content with your life?

Are you content with your life right now? Whether you would answer yes or no to this question, the more important question is this: When was the last time you stopped and asked yourself "Why am I (or am I not) content?"If you are content, is it because of your current life situations? Are you grounding in a career? Do you know exactly where you are heading in life? Are you in a good financial situation? Are you in a good relationship? If you are not content, is it because you cannot answer 'yes' to the questions above?Being "content" in the world today is viewed and based on our life circumstances. One day we are content because we have a good job, the next day we are no longer content because we lost our job. We live in a culture that has based contentment on happiness. The world tells us that we need to base our happiness on our circumstances. This is why people fight and strive for the best possible circumstances to be in. This way they can be happy, and through that find contentment. If we can follow what God says will lead to contentment, we will end up being in a much greater and more permanent place. Seek joy through Jesus, not happiness through circumstances. Contentment through happiness is temporary and based on your current circumstances. Contentment through joy is a permanent state of mind found through loving and living for Jesus.As believers, God often calls us to do things that may be viewed as contrary to worldly contentment. We are called to remain flexible to the call of God on our lives. If God tells us to move or do something different with our time, we need to be willing to step out of the "contentment" that the world tells us that we are in to follow God's call. If we are truly walking in Godly contentment then we will be willing to follow whatever God calls us to do without being shaken.Do not be like the world, unwilling to change because they are afraid that if their circumstances change, then so will their happiness and from that their contentment will be compromised. Live the life that God has called you to live. When change happens, take it on with joy knowing that God will bring you somewhere even better for you in the end.
