Forever

Are you ever at a loss of words?  No matter how many minutes, hours, days you sit there and think about it you just can’t find those words to adequately describe your feelings about something or someone?  I am at the point right now.  My wife and I are in a deep dark valley right now, but God always meets us where we are at.As I was driving back home from work yesterday I was listening to my iPod when the song Forever by Kari Jobe came on.  God stepped in at the perfect moment yet again, because half way through the song pastor Isaac Wimberly came on and shared the below.  It was so moving that I wanted to share it with anyone else that may be going through a tough time right now (emphasis mine).  Know that there is hope and that this isn’t forever, but eternal joy is!  God works in ways we can’t comprehend or ever will, but once we make it to that glorious place it won’t matter and it will all be completely worth it. If there are words for Him then I don’t have themYou see my brain has not yet reached a pointWhere it could form a thoughtThat could adequately describe the greatness of my GodAnd my lungs have not yet developed the abilityTo release a breath with enough agilityTo breathe out the greatness of His loveAnd my voice, my voice is so inhibitedRestrained by human limitsThat it’s hard to even send a praise upIf there are words for Him then I don’t have themMy GodHis grace is remarkableMercies are innumerableStrength is impenetrableHe is honorable, accountable, and favorableUnsearchable yet knowableIndefinable yet approachableIndescribable yet personalHe is beyond comprehensionFurther than imaginationConstant through generationsKing of every nationButIf there are words for Him then I don’t have themYou see my words are fewAnd to try and capture the one TRUE GodUsing my vocabulary will never doBut I use my words as an expressionAn expression of worship to a SaviorA Savior who is both worthy and deserving of my praiseSo I use wordsMy heart extols the LordBlesses His name foreverHe has won my heart, captured my mindAnd has bound them both togetherHe has defeated me in my rebellionConquered me in my sinHe has welcomed me into His presenceCompletely invited me inHe has made Himself the object of my sightFlooding me with mercies in the morningDrowning me with grace in the nightButIf there are words for Him then I don’t have themBut what I do have…Is Good NewsFor my God knew that man-made words would never doFor words are just tools that we useTo point to the TruthSo He sent his son Jesus Christ as THE WORDLiving proofHe is the image of the invisible GodThe firstborn of all creationFor by Him all things were createdGiving nothingness formationAnd by His word He sustains, in the power of His nameFor He is before all things and over all things He reignsHOLY IS HIS NAME!!Praise Him for His lifeThe way He persevered in strifeThe humble Son of God becoming the perfect sacrificePraise Him for His deathThat He willingly stood in our placeThat He lovingly endured the graveThat He battled our enemyAnd on the third day rose in victoryPraise Him because He rose!!Hallelujah He rose!!He is everything that was promisedPraise Him as the risen KingLift your voice and singFor one day He will return for us and we will finally beUnited with our Savior for eternitySo it’s not just words that I proclaimFor my words point to the WORDAnd the WORD has a nameHope has a nameJoy as a namePeace has a nameLove has a nameAnd that name is JESUS CHRISTPraise His name FOREVER!
