God Has the Power to Love Billions of People, Even You

I previously wrote about the amazing effect that Christ's death and resurrection had on the whole world. Let's piggyback off that topic and discuss how the "whole world" keeps getting bigger, but Christ's sin-cleansing power never diminishes. If you're a fan of statistics, you will love this conversation. But first, let's marinate on the following verse:

John 6:54 - Whoever feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day. (ESV)

"Whoever" is a great word here because it's both inclusive and exclusive. Everyone has the possibility to love Christ, but as we all know, not everyone will love Christ. But what if everyone did love Christ?

Well, in Jesus' earthly lifetime, the world's total population was only 300 million. That's a far cry from the 7.5 billion people who inhabit the world today. Nevertheless, the blood of the cross can take care of those people without a stutter or a skip.

Is that not amazing?

Even as the world continues to grow, Christ's power to reunite us all with the Father never wanes. It never fails. It has no cap.

For a savior that can turn water into wine, restore sight to the blind, and use food scraps to create a lavish fish fry feast, we ought not to be surprised anymore by the immensity of Christ's power.

I don't know about you, but that's an awesome power I want to be part of as long as I live. If you don't know Christ yet, there's still room in his kingdom for you. If you've turned away from Christ in the past, there's still room in his kingdom for you too. If you’ve been lukewarm in your relationship with Christ, there’s still room in his kingdom for you as well. I promise.
