The truth about the Powerball & the winning numbers
As of right now, the Powerball is up to $1.5 billion, and by the time you are reading this, it is probably already higher! There are almost 300 million players! Over the past couple of weeks I have heard many people talking about the Powerball. The past couple of days it actually seems to be all that anyone is talking about. I've heard people talking about it that I didn't even know play the lottery.
Did you know that you have a better chance of dying from a coconut hitting your head after falling from a palm tree than winning the lottery?
Before I give away the winning numbers, I want to talk about some of the reasons that people play the lottery. And yes, I know, it is because of the money! However, aside from that, here are few of the basic truths behind playing the lottery:1. It's not drainingIt doesn't cost much time or money to get your name in the hat to potentially win. You really don't have much to lose at all in this, just a couple of dollars for a chance to win! It doesn't drain you or cost you everything; it's inexpensive and simple.2. It promotes dreamingPeople talk to each other about what they would do if they won; they get the chance to share their visions and dreams for their lives with other people that they wouldn't normally get the chance to talk about. This is exciting because people love to share their dreams.3. It's excitingWhen those numbers are coming up on the screen, you cannot help but be excited and hopeful; even if one number is right you can feel your heart skip! A little excitement in our lives is a great thing.
The Powerball in relation to our daily lives:
In many ways, the Powerball brings something to people's lives that is often missing:
- You get a chance to win something big without having to put your whole life into it.
- You are encouraged to dream and share your dream with others.
- You have something to be excited about and look forward to.
Just something to think about as you read this short post; What could you change in your daily life to be less drained, more encouraged to dream and excited to start everyday? For each of us, this is going to look very different. But the simple point of this post is encourage you to find, implement and do the things in your life that make you feel the way you do when you are playing the Powerball.
Here is what this has looked like in my life:
First, I needed to find a job that is not completely draining or undesirable; and it doesn't have to be my primary job. In my case, I enjoy my 9-5 job, however, real estate investing is my passion. I have devoted some of my after hours time to doing this, later in life, it may be all that I do, but for now, I am taking steps in that direction.Second, I have close friends in my life that encourage me to dream. These friends share what is in their heart about their lives and futures, and I share mine, then we help each other move closer to those things that are our dreams. I greatly look forward to conversations with these individuals! (This is key! Click here to read more on this topic.)Third, I needed some extra excitement in my life! This has been something very simple for me. I love to play soccer! I set aside a couple of hours twice a week to get out and play with different groups of people.If you're reading this today, I encourage you, begin implementing these simple steps into your life and you'll notice that you feel more like a Powerball winner all of the time!
