The Weary World Rejoices!
"Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judea, to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and lineage of David, to be registered with Mary, his betrothed wife, who was with child. So it was, that while they were there, the days were completed for her to be delivered. And she brought forth her firstborn Son, and wrapped Him in swaddling cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn. Now there were in the same country shepherds living out in the fields, keeping watch over their flock by night. And behold, an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were greatly afraid. Then the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. And this will be the sign to you: You will find a Babe wrapped in swaddling cloths, lying in a manger.” And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying: “Glory to God in the highest,And on earth peace, goodwill toward men!” Luke 2:4-14Before Christ came into this world as God in flesh, mankind could never fully be forgiven and renewed for their sins without a lot of the rules, laws and regulations found in the Old Testament. As human beings, we consistently mess up. But God so desired to live and dwell amongst you and I. To be in an intimate relationship with each and every one of us, that He created the ultimate plan of redemption for us. In a world that was so dark with sin and despair, God sent His Light to walk among us. He gave His sacrificial lamb to be born in a manager and wrapped in swaddling clothes, just so that He could spend eternity with you and I. I want you to truly meditate on the fact that on this day that we designate to celebrate the birth of Christ, our Heavenly Father gave His ONLY Son to be persecuted and crucified for you and I...and our Father KNEW what was going to happen, yet He still went on with His will, because you meant that much to Him. The first born Son had the birth right of his father, which meant he inherited all the father had. Christ was the First and only Son of God and He willingly gave up His thrown for the time He was on earth and ultimately, His life for us. Would you be willing to give your life for someone outside of your family? Maybe even someone who has done something against you? Christ did! Though we have sinned against Him, He still redeemed us! The King was born! He was the spotless sacrifice and because the wages of sin is death... death could not hold Him and death no longer can hold you!On that day, a thrill of hope rested upon an infant child's face, as Shepherd's and Magi traveled far and wide, following the star from Heaven, to see their hope for our weary world restored. On that day, Heaven rejoiced! For a new Way for mankind had come! On that day, our Savior King, CHOSE to enter our world in humility and live a life, not of the privileged as He should have, but as a lowly carpenters Son. A Thrill of hope, our Weary World rejoices...even 2,000 years later! Today remember how precious you are in the sight of our Creator! You are worthy and purposed for a life filled with His favor, Grace, and love! God Bless and the Merriest of Merry Christmas to you and yours!
