The American Dream-Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness
The American Dream is a popular idea that many are taught since grade school. Our Founding Fathers warrant this dream in the Declaration of Independence.
"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. - That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed."
American culture has ingrained the idea that we live in a land of opportunity where life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness if free for all citizens. Millions have journeyed to America, so they too could take part in the vision that so many men and woman have given their life for, but what people do not realize is this dream is available to every nation!Because of Christ and the life, He gave, we are not only given life but eternal life. In John 5:24 (ESV) it says, "Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life. He does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life." The dream is simple just believe, and it is yours! It does not require any works just faith.The dream does not stop there, not only do we have eternal life, but liberty! In Romans 8:1-2 (ESV) it says, "There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death." No longer are we enslaved to our sin nature, nothing of this world has a hold on us: Addiction, condemnation, rejection, depression, etc. We now live liberated because we are a new creation in Him![easy-tweet tweet="His Word never fails us; it is faithful to the end." via="no" hashtags="DailyPS"]The old has passed, and the new has come and with that, we celebrate our and new freedom by taking joy in Him. This joy is found in John 15:11 (AMP) "I have told you these things so that My joy and delight may be in you, and that your joy may be made full and complete and overflowing." We have a new happiness that can never be taken away because our joy is placed in the Lord and not on earthly matters.Just like the Declaration of Independence protects the American Dream our dream and reality is preserved in His Word. His Word never fails us; it is faithful to the end.
