Who I am to You

“Tell me, lest I forget, who I am to you – that I belong to you.” I think we all struggle with not knowing who we are to God. It is not possible for the human brain to comprehend the love and grace which God freely pours out onto us, and that is ok.Zephaniah 3:17 says “The LORD your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; he will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love; he will exult over you with loud singing.” It is hard for us to imagine a God, who created 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 stars (by the way, that’s 100 billion trillion), would walk alongside us every step of our lives. He weeps when we weep, He celebrates when we celebrate, and His deepest desire is to simply be loved by us.That blows my mind. A divine being capable of creating galaxies, time, and the infinite vastness of space, has one desire – one thing that in all of his strength, He wants more than anything… Our love. God created us with free will, when He just as easily could have created trillions of robots to worship him for all of time. God created us in his image – capable of receiving and giving love. Our creator’s #1 desire is for us to choose to love Him!1 John 4:7-8 says Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God.  Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love.God freely loves us every single moment of our lives. When we are stressed, contemplating how we will make it through whatever faces us – God is right next to us, urging us on. Whenever sorrow strikes, God pours his grace over us like a waterfall, healing our hearts. Whenever things seem to mysteriously align for our benefit, that is God working in the background on our behalf. He is with us, forever and always, a protector, healer, and pillar for us to lean on.[embed]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QSIVjjY8Ou8[/embed]
